What is WattFest?
WattFest is Heriot-Watt University Dubai’s annual inter-university arts competition, bringing together universities from across the UAE to showcase their talent in music and dance. It’s a celebration of creativity, performance, and campus spirit — all on one stage.
🎟 Entry
All guests are required to obtain a WattFest Pass to attend the event. The pass costs DHS 30 and is fully redeemable on food and drinks inside the venue.
Upon arrival, you will receive a token at the entrance which can be used within the venue.

What are the categories?
🎸 Battle of the Bands (Music)
Bands from different universities compete live on stage, showcasing their musical talent, stage presence, and originality. Judges will be looking for strong rhythm, coordination between band members, creativity in performance, and an overall sound that truly stands out. Only the band that delivers the most powerful and polished performance will take the title.
💃 Step It Up Dance (Group Dance)
Dance crews go head-to-head in a high-energy group freestyle competition. Teams will be judged on choreography, synchronization, creativity, stage presence, and overall performance impact as they compete to be crowned the best dance crew at WattFest.
