Music Club enters the next academic year with new ideas, new faces and even more passion!
We’ve listened to your feedback and have events tailored to your needs. Join us as we look back on our previous years, our favourite memories and events, and look ahead towards new expectations, some of our new ideas and so much more!
In retrospect
2024-2025 was a refreshing year for the Music Club. We started strong with themed open mics, karaoke and exciting games. We held technical sessions with our Music Production workshop, covering basic production, mixing and recording, and guitar and vocals workshop. The session ended with a sweet unforgettable moment where we all sang Riptide together.
Our small regular jam sessions which became a safe space to unwind after long hours of studying and lectures, making music and memories together. We had a fun disney themed karaoke event where performers would come up and play their favorite disney tracks.
We are proud to say that we’ve touched grass! We had a beach outing with the Volleyball club, jamming by the waves and the seagulls.
We’ve also been pretty competitive this year - bagging 3rd place in Mirchi Jam where we performed at a radio station. Our bands Tnitus and Progression rocked the stage in Wattfest and Jashn, showing off our talents.
Though we’ve had a good year overall, we’ve had various issues and concerns brought to us by our members – namely the lack of structured sessions, variety and inclusivity. Which leads us to our next segment…
We hear you, and we care!
We’ve listened to your concerns and are planning to improve the club in a way that accommodates everyone’s musical interests and needs! Our new additions include:

Friday jams! We’ve conducted a survey, and we concluded that another day dedicated to jamming will improve the experience. We will continue with the regular Wednesday sessions, but we reserved those for bigger, all-inclusive events such as open mics and collaborations. That way we can tailor to both musicians and casual listeners without leaving anyone behind ;)

More active social media! Introducing monthly event calendars, so you have events to look forward to all year long. Weekly spotlights will be making a return, with a focus on sharing the musical talents of our members. We also have many other ideas brewing to keep the page alive and running, with you at the center of it!

Better equipment – we finally bought recording equipment! We will be conducting songwriting, production and recording workshops to help you express your creative side.

Are you a musician looking for a band? Look out for our first jam session on Friday…

More instrument variety! Jazz brushes for drummers, a ukulele, a MIDI drum pad, and possibly more coming soon…

And most importantly, many many more sessions! More open mics, themed karaokes, and other planned events, some including your other favorite social clubs!
