The HWUD Basketball Club exists to provide all its members with the best possible experience basketball can offer, regardless of individual skill level or background.

Being a part of the Basketball Club brings together the competitive spirit, passion and commitment for the sport to enhance your student life at Heriot-Watt University. Whether you're looking to try something new and meet people or play at the highest level of student basketball in the UAE, we've got a place for you!

THE OFFICIAL TEAM

With our well established men’s and women’s teams, we represent the University in tournaments throughout the UAE.

The team is selected based on talent. We welcome committed, high performing players to the HWUD Basketball Team that value progression and sportsmanship!

We have team training twice a week and are trained by a professional coach, who has a highly successful basketball career with several accolades under his belt. We look forward to welcoming new players to further strengthen our teams!

Log in to your account with your student email. All players must purchase a Basketball Club membership here. Add it to your basket and check out. Don’t worry, the membership is free!

Student President Election - 2026/2027

On behalf of the Student Council, We are excited to announce the opening of applications for our next Student President. The Student president is the head of the Council and must lead their council as well as work with staff members and the student body to ensure success in representation, development and experience for all students on the Dubai campus. This role is an elected position. Students will vote for their chosen candidate. PLEASE NOTE – This role is a full time position and the term is 1 year starting from the 1st of June 2025.
