I am Lara Elmorshidy, I am a second-year Psychology student. I have been studying at Heriot-Watt for the past two years and I believe I can make meaningful changes to our event planning.

As an Executive of Events, I firmly believe in the power of experiences to bring people together and create lasting memories. I am committed to creating events that are not only memorable but also meaningful and impactful. My approach to event planning is deeply rooted in four key principles:

Creativity: I believe in thinking outside the box and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Whether it's a charity fundraiser or a social gathering, I strive to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table, which in turn add on to the students' university experience. 

Collaboration: Successful events require a team effort, and I value the input and expertise of all personnel and students involved. By working closely with the student council, I ensure that everyone's vision is recognised and that the event runs smoothly from start to finish.

Attention to Detail: From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, I pay meticulous attention to every detail to ensure that every aspect of the event is perfect. From the décor to the catering and entertainment, I leave no stone unturned to make sure that every participant has an unforgettable experience.

Sustainability: I believe in taking a responsible and sustainable approach to event planning. From minimising waste to supporting local businesses, I strive to make events that not only benefit our participants but also contribute to the greater good.

As an Executive of Events, I am committed to providing exceptional service and becoming the bridge between the students and the student council and I will ensure that I pay attention to any and all feedback from participants that have been involved in said events and will take that criticism in mind when planning for future events. By embodying these four principles, I am confident that I can create events that are not only memorable but also meaningful and impactful for all involved.
