Hey, I am Arya Natraj, and I am running for the post of Vice- President of Events and Community. Despite not running for a student council post before, I assure you that I have had experience in the past wherein I have led teams with absolute eminence, and I have also taken up roles such as house captain and vice-captain back in school which gave me the opportunity to conduct various events within school as well as outside.

Students look forward to events and activities that provide them an escape from piled up assignments and upcoming exams during their three or four years in college. However, after the Covid-19 wave the number of activities has declined further due to which we lost the opportunity to create good memories. Hoping that we could all come together once again in our new campus, let us start afresh and make a student council that excel beyond the ones from previous years. New faces means new ideas and I would do my best to organize events and gain mesmerizing experiences to make up for the one year we all lost. In order to make this happen I expect everyone’s support and guidance regardless if you are a fresher or a senior.

I also look forward to giving a bigger voice to both students and clubs. Making sure that academics are not affected, I would try bringing in more events not only for students but also for our professors. This would help strengthen the bond between students and professors, thereby strengthening our Heriot Watt community. I would encourage every student of Heriot Watt to take a step forward and participate in events and showcase their talents because I believe that everyone is talented in their own ways. It is time we give Heriot Watt a change. So, let us all come together and make a memorable difference.
