Hey guys, my name is Abel Wilson Varghese and I am currently doing my Year 2 in BEng Civil Engineering (Hons) and I am standing for the post of Executive of Wellbeing in the HWUD Student Council.

Wellbeing means being comfortable, leading a healthy and happy life and I believe that I can work with great motivation and confidence from my colleagues towards making our campus where everyone’s problems are well addressed in a way that makes everyone feel safe and secure.

It would be my immense pleasure to welcome every single one of you to address their problem as I want the student’s welfare to become the biggest priority within the campus and I am pretty sure that it will!!

I would like to focus on certain policies that would benefit our campus and those will be: -

• Open Door Policy

Students should be having their own voice for their own problems. They should be solved as soon as possible in a way that is most comfortable for them which can be through in-person meetings, telephone, or email.

• Improvement in Mental Health

I will ensure that the students and the staff are always well treated so that discipline is always maintained in the decorum. Also, monthly training sessions for the staff and students would be held so that they feel cared for, supported, and secure.

My main aim is to create a reason for the students to Smile!!
