Who Are We?

Hey there! We're the awesome HWUD Athletics Club, and our journey started in 2019. We're all about championing fantastic athletes who have a passion for track and field excitement. But guess what? We're not all about the serious stuff. We're all about teaming up with other sports clubs, both on and off campus, for practices that are not only effective but also loads of fun. And hold on tight, because we're all about crafting amazing adventures too! Think hikes, mountain climbs, desert runs, and cycling escapades. These adventures bring in new faces every year – people who are eager to grow and make our club shine even brighter. Trust us, it's a perfect way to build stronger bonds among us. What's in Store for You?

Welcome to our exciting training sessions! We kickstart our Mondays with a focus on track-specific strength and conditioning sessions. This is the day we delve into plyometrics and fine-tune our running mechanics, ensuring we're primed for peak performance.

On Tuesdays, it's all about variety and specialization. We cover a wide range of track and field disciplines, including sprints, long distance running, middle distance events, long jump, javelin.

Thursdays are another dynamic day where we revisit sprints, long distance running, high jump, and shot put.

Throughout each session, we incorporate heart-pounding HIIT workouts to push our limits and embrace the thrill of athletic training. The first hour of our gathering is dedicated to high-intensity interval training (HIIT), elevating our fitness levels and enhancing our performance in all areas.

Afterward, in the second hour, we break into groups, delving into the events. 

To conclude our sessions, we engage in cooling-down exercises to ensure a proper recovery. These sessions are designed to help us recover and relax after our intensive training.

Our Awesome Achievements

We've been up to some seriously cool stuff. Take a peek at the shiny trophies we brought home last year:

  • Overall champions at Watt Fest 2022
  • Snagged the second spot in the Amity Athletics league as runners up (2023)
  • Nailed the champion title in the Amity Athletics League 2022
  • Bagged multiple medals at BITS, NYUAD, RAK, the Ultimate Athletes Meet, and a bunch of thrilling marathons

Monday 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM Sprints & Long Jump (1 hour sprints, followed by 30 minutes long jump)
Tuesday 6:15 PM - 7:45 PM Middle Distance Only
Thursday 6:15 PM - 7:45 PM Sprints & High Jump (1 hour sprints, followed by 30 minutes long jump)
Sunday 6:00PM - 7:00 PM Throws Only
